What does it take to a good christian parent?

Hebrews 12:11
No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

l love my children dearly and as a mother I would never like to know that anything at all have happen to my children. We laugh and have fun together, but I am finding it difficult some days not to scream and argue with my children

Can you believe that even my six year old has attitude. I find myself saying “look at me- drop the attitude okay” or “go to your room until you find your manners”.
I find that teenage girls in today’s world do not care so much anymore about mannerisms, and they do not live by principles. I had a conversation last night via texting with my teenage daughter. It saddens me that this is the way of communication with our children. I will not get into the details of our conversation, but truly after the talk I cried.

My heart as a mother was overwhelmed. The thought of how she spoke, the words she used, the tone in her mannerism and the way her young unknowing mind perceives this world.
She made a statement to me that went something like: “guess I will learn the hard way or the easy”. What has this society done to our families? When I woke up it was still on my mind. If our children only could penetrate and understand the heart of a true parent. This world is teaching our children and also some parents to spear the rod, and spoil our children.

My family has had many changes and a few really hard days over the past three to four years, but can life be so bad. If my children only knew the tears I have cried at night for my family. I ask Jesus to help us and to protect them and make me a better mother, and wife and Christian, but most of the time I pray for my children. I cried when they are sleeping and I look at their beautiful faces and think how can I do better for their sake?

I am a woman of God and a Christian. How could I say I am Christ like and not follow His words? I encourage mothers and fathers, aunts, uncles any care giver to pray, pray, pray for our children and the world.

Satan wants to split families apart and turn children against parents and parents against children. He wants to devour the future children of God. Darkness will not be in control forever. There is a reckoning coming, and as Christian parents make sure we can stand on that day and know we followed God’s commands. Parents we have to also be an example to our children. But I learn that the only way we can have a happy family and well rounded children is to pray to the lord to help, because He is the only one that can make all things right.

Prayer:  Hi Jesus I know it has been a while, I have been neglectful and somewhat lazy towards you, but Lord I want to do what is right in your sight. I want to serve you with a open and willing heart. I want to know your plans for me and serve you righteously. I am asking you to put creativity back in my life, I am asking you to work in my life and upon my heart remove the veil from my eyes and please help me to see, help my heart to return to you as you are my first true love. Please make me into a good parent, help me to be a living example for my family in Jesus'name. Here are some reads.

Proverbs 13:24

Whoever spares the rod hates their children,
but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them
